Apple’s online store is the only place you can buy new PSVR 2 controllers separately, and they’re not cheap
You can finally buy the PSVR 2 controllers separately, but not from Sony. They’re available on Apple’s online store for $249.95 and come with the Charging Station. Considering you can grab the entire package, bundled with Horizon Call of the Mountain, for just $399.99 on the official PlayStation Store, it’s safe to say that the controllers alone seem far from a bargain.
It has been more than two years since Sony released the PlayStation VR2, otherwise known as the PSVR 2. In our review of the VR headset, we rate it as “an almost perfect console VR experience,” and it’s worth noting that support did later come to PC via an official adapter, albeit one you have to purchase separately for $60.
The official Apple store is the only place you can buy them (new) separately
Since Sony has never sold the controllers separately, it’s difficult to determine how much exactly they should be valued at. The $250 price tag may have made sense back when the PSVR2 bundle cost a whopping $599.99, but it was eventually dropped to $399.99 two years after its launch, which brought it closer to the recently released (at the time) Meta Quest 3S. But with no other choice right now, the Apple Store is the best place you can pick up a spare pair of brand-new controllers.

You also can’t purchase them without the Charging Station, nor buy just one controller at a time; it’s a simple flat fee of $249.95. Do note that these aren’t available at in-store locations – only from Apple’s online shop. Here’s what’s in the package:
- PlayStation VR2 Senseâ„¢ controller (L/R) with attached straps
- PlayStation VR2 Senseâ„¢ controller charging station
- AC adapter
- AC power cord
- 2 USB adapters
The likely reason why Apple is starting to sell these controllers is due to the recent support for them on its Apple Vision Pro headset, which recently got an M5 chip upgrade. Support for PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers arrived in visionOS 26 a couple of months ago.
